Baby Factories Where Teenagers Deliver Unwanted Pregnancies

For quite some time now, a new wave of making money through selling of new born babies and child trafficking is currently sweeping across parts of the country. The racket of keeping young girls and boys to produce children and then sell to desperate buyers is fast gaining prominence not only in the South-East but also in South West.

Operators of the homes and their syndicates usually scout for females with unwanted pregnancies and lure teenagers  to their herbal clinic for delivery. Some keep young girls (teenagers) and allow their male syndicates to impregnate them and hold them in hostage throughtout the gestation period.  Thereafter, the owner of the home settles them with cash and administers the babies to desperate childless women who patronise her herbal clinic to seek for fruits of the womb at higher costs.

Recently, a London based couple travelled to Nigeria where the woman received fertility treatment at a maternity home. She returned to the clinic months later and she was sedated. When she regained consciousness, she was handed a baby and told she had given birth.

On her return to London, the authorities raised concerns. The child was taken into care and a DNA test proved the child was not related to the couple. The London police then launched legal proceedings to get custody of the baby arguing that the couple’s story was a ‘charade.’

Our Ordeal In Terrorist Den –Female Abductees

Two women abducted by Boko Haram insurgents  in the North-East have given a rare account of life as captives. While one who  was held captive for 15 days, said she had a marriage proposal from one of the Islamist militants, the other said she was almost turned into a killer.

“They asked me if I am Christian or Muslim. I said I am a Christian,” said 23-year-old Liatu, as she recounted her ordeal   in the hands of Boko Haram members to the British Broadcasting Corporation. “On the 11th day (in captivity), they brought a man to me and said that he liked me and that  I should convert to Islam so that he can marry me,” she added in the report published by the BBC on Monday.

Liatu claimed that in Sambisa Forest, Borno State, where she was taken to after being seized   at a roadblock last year, she witnessed the killing of 50 persons by the insurgents. According to her, the insurgents, who had earlier killed Muslims employed by the government, preferred to use knives to slit peoples’ throats than shooting them. She said, “They were slitting people’s throats with knives. Both women and men were killed, especially the men who didn’t agree to fight for them.

“Those that tried to escape were shot but they hardly ever used their guns to kill. They usually used knives. About 50 people were killed right in front of me.” Liatu  also told the BBC that  the  terrorists  were usually tipped off about any imminent attack by the   army. This, she claimed, allowed the militants  to hide in caves and forests close to the Cameroonian border.

Liatu, who refused to eat anything during her days  in captivity, added that  after being told about the proposed marriage, she made an extremely risky escape. She said, “One of the captives stood up and said, ‘You only die once. Who is ready to make a run for it?’ Six of us jumped into one of the Boko Haram vehicles in the camp – a Volkswagen Golf.

“They chased us on motorbikes, shooting at the car until we got close to Bama town. Then they left and we got out of the car to continue on foot as there was a curfew in place. It was only then that I realised the three people on the backseat had all been shot dead.”

Like, Liatu, 19-year-old Janet, said she witnessed the slaughtering of people by the militants. “They went to Gwoza and brought five people to the camp. They started slaughtering them in front of me,” said Janet, who  was in  the insurgents’ den for three months.

At a point, she added, the insurgents ordered her  to slit the throat of one of the captured people but she declined.

“Then they ordered me to slit one of their throats. I refused. I told them I couldn’t do it. Then the wife of the leader of the group killed him instead.” Janet said. She said she recognised the faces of the men who held her captive as most of them came from her area. Janet said, “I knew almost all the people in the group I was with. I knew them from my home area. “I was really angry and when I couldn’t keep quiet any longer, I said to one of them, ‘When we were at home you would even visit me and I respected you. So why are you doing this to me?”

A teacher who survived last month’s attack on a boarding school in Yobe State also narrated to the BBC how the insurgents killed some pupils in the institution. “I peeped through the window and saw the gunshots coming in… and there was a lot of shouting,” he said, declining to give his name.

The teacher added, “I came back silently and said, ‘Let us lock our doors and pray. If they come in, that is maybe the end of our lives.’ We kept on praying and praying and praying. “In one house, they even met two children that had been left behind by their parents who had fled to the bush. After coming in, the insurgents saw the children sleeping on their mattress.

“They woke them up asked them to go outside. They put the mattress outside and asked them to sleep. Then they set the house ablaze. “We cried. Some of them were slaughtered like goats. Others were shot. “Most of them had high hopes that they would be future leaders. Some of them in class were telling us they would be lawyers and doctors. They were full of ambition.”

Riot In Nigeria {IBADAN} Over Discovery Of Body Parts

Rioting has erupted outside a building in Nigeria where human remains were found at the weekend. At least 20 people are reported to have been injured when dozens were prevented from entering the property - dubbed the "House of Horror".

Police have cordoned off the abandoned house in the south-western city of Ibadan since Saturday.

Locals suspect black magic rituals were behind the scores of skeletons and rotting corpses found there. Reports say several severely malnourished people were also found wandering in the bush near the building, and that at least 15 others were found shackled inside.

"We want to rescue our people who are still underground and crying for help. But the police are saying no and we are angry," one rioter said. Policemen guard the abandoned building where rotting bodies and skeletons were found Locals believed the run-down building was being used by a construction company
Some rioters were reported to have been carrying sticks and machetes.

The find came after a group of motorcycle taxi riders reported that some of their members had gone missing and were believed to have been abducted.

Kidnapping victims in Nigeria are sometimes tortured or sacrificed in black magic rituals, and local media have reported the sale of human body parts across the country. Witnesses reported swarms of flies and an overpowering stench. Clothes and personal belongings were also seen at the property. Local media say human body parts were being sold to customers who came to the premises at night-time.

Police said on Sunday that six people, including five security guards allegedly armed with guns, bows and arrows, were arrested at the scene.

See Animals That Are Eaten Alive In The World

                                                                 CHILLED ANTS

Copenhagen-based restaurant Noma apparently thinks it’s a good idea to put ants in a salad and their patrons seem to agree and are willing fork out $300 for a plate. The ants, dished up with a dollop of crème fraîche, are offered as a crunchy, gluten-free alternative to croutons and taste like ginger, cilantro, and lemongrass. And don’t worry too much about them escaping your plate, they are chilled before serving so they’re a little groggy and move slower.

                                                     Jumping Shrimp

Odori Ebi and Drunken Shrimp are dishes from Japan and China respectively, and both involve eating the sea-animal while parts of it are still alive. Odori Ebi removes the shell of baby shrimp and deep fries the body.  it’s traditionally eaten while the legs and antenna are still moving, but if this is a little too disconcerting you can try dipping it in some sake first, the alcohol intoxicates it long enough for you to chew it to death.

                                                  Frog Sashimi

This dish takes eating frog legs to an entirely new level. In some eastern countries, mainly China, Vietnam and Japan, you can eat live frogs served up filleted with their hearts still beating (and occasionally while their limbs are still moving). The dish is a delicacy and uses special bullfrogs raised for cooking.

There are many ways to make the dish but this is usually how it’s prepared: the frogs are still alive when you order them, then they’re sliced open on a plate and disembowelled while alive. Certain parts are removed and boiled in a broth, the rest is sliced as sashimi and served on the frog. For the record, this is not a meal for the squeamish. It’s all done in front of you while you’re waiting for your meal and you eat the frog complete with beating heart and flailing limbs. The dish has been called out for animal cruelty and it is banned in many countries.

                                                Fruit Bat Soup

On the tiny island of Guam, in the western Pacific Ocean, locals like to indulge in a little “kÃ¥'kÃ¥'du fanihidu fanihi”, a meat dish made with a fox or fruit bat in a coconut milk soup. The still-living bat is nabbed from the wild, rinsed off, and popped into a boiling vat of water, wings, fur, and head intact, and boiled alive before being served up with a dash of coconut milk and vegetables (if you’re lucky).

You’re meant to eat everything except the bones and teeth. While the bat is technically dead (or in the final throes of death) when served, the abundant parasites and bacteria it contains are certainly not. There are some serious diseases that can be passed along to humans from this dish so eat it with care, if you choose to eat it at all.

Arsenal Manager To Extend Contract

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given his broadest hint yet that he will put pen-to-paper on a new contract with the club in the coming weeks.

Some reports had claimed Arsenal would toast the occasion of Wenger's 1,000th game in charge of the club at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to confirm the 64-year-old would extend his 17-year stay as the club's manager.

That announcement has not been forthcoming, but Wenger was drawn into admitting he is already looking to the future at Arsenal as he is relishing the prospect of challenging for major honours after so many years of battling against financial restrictions.

As reporters tried to push Wenger to confirm he would remain at the club beyond his current contract, he was quizzed over whether he would still be in charge for at least 1,010 games.

"I think so, yes," was his response. "I want to do well, and the expectation level and the impatience is there. My desire is to stay. My commitment is full. I do not want to look somewhere else. I want to stay here. There shouldn't be any uncertainty at all.

"It will be done soon, but I want now to focus on the end of the season. My loyalty to this club should never be questioned."

Wenger went on to reflect on the changes he has overseen at Arsenal since he arrived at the club back in 1996, with the culture at the club very different now than it was when he replaced Bruce Rioch as Gunners boss.

"I changed a few habits [of the players], which isn't easy in a team where the average age is 30 years," he said. "At the first match the players were chanting 'we want our Mars bars'.

"Then, at halftime I asked my physio Gary Lewin: 'Nobody is talking, what's wrong with them?' He replied: 'They are hungry'. I hadn't given them their chocolate before the game. It was funny."

Wenger went on to defend his lack of trophy success since 2005, as he offered a stout defence of the achievements he has managed to orchestrate in the last nine years.

"In 2006, we were in the Champions League final. Nobody speaks about it now, but it is still an achievement," he added.

"It is not a trophy, but we did without conceding a goal in 10 European games and we only lost in the last 13 minutes of the Champions League. Can you say you have failed that season? I don't think so.

"We beat Real Madrid (in the second round) with Zidane and Beckham and all those players, on top of that we managed to stay in the top four (of the Premier League) that season, but nobody speaks about it. It is like we did nothing that season at all. Why? Because at the end of the season we don't parade with a trophy.

"If we had won the League Cup that season people would have said 'they won the League Cup in 2006', but what is that compared to going into the Champions League final without losing a game? You have to take a bit of distance with that and assess what is difficult and what is less difficult.

"I know trophies are important, but if you don't have a trophy it doesn't mean nothing happened in the season and you have been disastrous -- in a season where you win trophies, you still have bad games."

Russian Millionaire Beats Girlfriend, Leaves Her Looking Like A Zombie

A multimillionaire Russian telecommunications boss is now on the run after beating his model girlfriend up so brutally that she was left looking like a 'zombie from a horror film'.

Pavel Ushanov, 33, who is CEO of the Russian communications company Devino Telecom, had been dating model Alexandra Sereda for two years when she told him that she wanted to end their relationship.
But Ushanov was so enraged by her decision that he launched a brutal attack on the 27-year-old.

Speaking from her hospital bed she told Russian media: 'I was leaving for work and it was 7 am in the morning when I heard the doorbell, and then I heard his voice'
'I could hear that he sounded annoyed and I didn't want to open the door, but he obviously wasn't going away so then I did and without saying anything he just went inside and punched me in the head.'

She said that the man had then kicked and punched constantly for 10 minutes.
She said that even when she screamed that he was going to kill her, he had simply replied: 'Good, that's what I want'.

Miss Ushanov only escaped after managing to open the door and run off and fortunately because she had her mobile phone with her was able to call the police.
Paramedics took her to hospital to be treated for her injuries.
She added: 'When I looked at the pictures of myself after the attack I looked like a zombie from a horror movie.'
Police say Ushanov has since gone on the run, and they have issued a warrant for his arrest.

Michael Schumacher Losses 25 Per Cent Of His Body

Stricken former F1 driver Michael Schumacher has reportedly lost 25 per cent of his body weight while in his artificially induced coma and now weighs just a little under eight and-a-half stone.

Today he is 84 days into the coma he was placed in on December 29 last year after suffering serious brain injuries during a low-speed ski run on the slopes of the French resort of Meribel.
Helicoptered to the University Hospital of Grenoble, he was placed in the coma and has undergone two operations.

Although his family, manager Sabine Kehm and close friend Jean Todt insist they have not given up on the hope of full recovery there is still no concrete news about how optimistic his medical team are about him coming around from the coma.
Doctors began decreasing the anaesthetics keeping him under a month ago but still he is unconscious with no signs that he recognises his external environment.
Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport and the major German daily Bild-Zeitung are now reporting Schumacher's drastic weight loss.

'While a weight loss in coma patients is normal, 20 kilos is a lot for people with normal body weights,' said Prof Dr Curt Diehm, of the Karlsbad teaching hospital in Germany.
Small, encouraging signs... Schumacher's family stay positive as F1 legend continues to make progress on road to recovery
'One must assume that his muscles have degraded greatly due to the immobility,' he surmised.
Although Schumacher, 45, has his muscles and joints massaged on a daily basis while lying prone in intensive care, professor Diehm said this was not enough to stop muscle shrinkage.
Schumacher's wife Corinna, his daughter Gina-Marie, 17, and son Mick, 14, spend up to eight hours a day at his bedside, talking with him and praying for signs of a recovery.
It is understood the family have been told that only a miracle can bring about a full recovery.
Doctors believe that if he does wake up, he will need many years of intensive therapy to regain full limb movement and speech.
The worst-case scenario for the seven-times Formula One champion is being in a 'waking coma' - otherwise known as a permanent vegative state - where he is conscious but unable to move or speak.

Doctors believe that if he does wake up, he will need many years of intensive therapy to regain full limb movement and speech
Schumacher remains in the thoughts of Formula One's management and its fans worldwide since the start of the 2014 racing season, with Bahrain renaming the first corner after the F1 legend, while winner of the Melbourne Grand Prix Nico Rosberg dedicated his victory to him.

We exchanged numbers and we started a relationship from there. It is barely a month since we got to know each other, but anyone who has seen us together would think we have been dating for more than two years, simply because we click,” she said.
“I don’t know why anyone should have problems with me.

For some days now, family members of Elikem and friends of Pokello have been disturbing me with phone calls to stay away from Elikem but all I tell them is we are in love and no one can stop us”.

Ethiopia Proposes To Make Gay Sex A Non-Pardonable Offence

Lawmakers in Ethiopia are expected to pass into law a bill that would make same-sex acts a non-pardonable offense.

Other anti-gay actions and measures in Ethiopia are inducing a climate of fear and panic among the country's LGBT community.

Ethiopia's Council of Ministers endorsed the bill last week with parliament expected, according to local activists, to vote it into law as early as next week.

The bill aims to curb the president's power to pardon prisoners who committed certain "crimes," including those imprisoned for homosexuality acts. Other offenses included in the list are corruption, human-trafficking, smuggling, rape and terrorism.

Ethiopia's Minister of State Getachew Bedane urged a quick vote.

26 year-old Bereket, an Ethiopian gay rights blogger commented on the move: "The decision to include homosexuality in this bill is simply pure ignorance on the part of the government.

"The rest of the world is decriminalizing homosexuality not because it wants to or it is the fashionable thing to do, but because it is now being realized that sexual orientation is a basic human right too.

"It's deeply troubling to see Ethiopia opting out of this global consciousness."

Ethiopian authorities have, however, signaled that more anti LGBT measures and "gay-bashing rhetoric" are on the way, in preparation to "the run up to the election next year," reported Daniel Berhane of the Horn Affairs blog.

According to the Ethiopian Reporter, the Addis Ababa Youth Forum, a group linked to the ruling party in Ethiopia, in collaboration with Weyneye Abune Teklehaimanot, an Ethiopian Orthodox Church association, is planning a mass anti-gay demonstration in the capital against what they called the "sodomite violence that is being committed against minors."

The group is awaiting a final permission from the Addis Ababa City Administration and is expected to go ahead with the planned rally within the next few weeks.

The mass demonstration is reportedly backed by government institutions such as "the Addis Ababa City Culture and Tourism Bureau, Addis Ababa Labor and Social Affairs Bureau, Women, Youth and Children Affairs Bureau and the Addis Ababa Police Commission," according to the Chairman of Addis Ababa Youth Forum.

Ahead of the rally, Weyneye Abune Teklehaimanot has recently produced a video alleging same-sex acts are linked to the advent of the anti-Christ and "the end of the world".

In addition, Addis Ababa municipality officers are planning to provide anti-LGBT seminars to youth across the capital to provide "awareness" on "the dangers posed to children by homosexuality."

The linkage of LGBT issues to pedophilia has been recently stepped up in Ethiopia's press that frequently publishes interviews with Evangelical anti-gay preacher, Dr. Antonious Seyoum.

In Ethiopia, same-sex acts are illegal and punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

In addition, under its anti-terrorism law anyone who states what the government deems terrorism (which can include human rights criticism) can be imprisoned for 20 years, without a warrant.

Ethiopia's anti-advocacy law bars charities and nongovernmental organizations that receive more than 10 percent of their funding from abroad from participating in activities that advance human rights and the promotion of equality.

Collectively, the laws create a dangerous environment for LGBT Ethiopians to be open about their sexual orientation or gender identity.

"Ethiopia has already very harsh anti-LGBT laws, including a 25 year imprisonment for anyone infecting another person with HIV during same-sex acts.

"The situation, however, is getting worse as it seems the government is trying to its emulate Nigeria's and Uganda's anti-gay laws," said a spokesperson for the advocacy group Rainbow Ethiopia, who could not be identified for fear of his family's safety.

"LGBT people are already denied access to health services, even those funded directly by the US government.

"But the impact of such a law coupled with the strong anti-gay public sentiment that is being intentionally stirred up makes it likely that HIV infection rates will go further up.

"LGBT people are now terrified even to approach underground health services, and now live in a climate of fear and persecution."
