Deeper Life Pastor Sentenced To Six Years Imprisonment For Defrauding Banks

A former Brooklyn-based civil attorney, and Pastor of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Ifeanyichukwu Eric Abakporo, was today in federal court in New York sentenced to six years in a United States prison in a case of defrauding banks, mortgage lenders, property owners, and property buyers.

Mr. Abakporo was immediately remanded into custody by presiding U.S. District Court Judge, Shira A. Scheindlin. His wife and two children wept openly in the courtroom.  He was led away in handcuffs.  In addition to the six-year mandatory sentence, Abakporo will more than likely face deportation to Nigeria after serving his sentence, with the likelihood of a three-year supervisory probation release waved.

His co-defendant, Latanya Pierce, received a lighter, 30-month sentence.  In her closing statement, Pierce said she felt like the “biggest fool in the world.”  The legal fate of Abakporo and Pierce was never in doubt.  They were convicted in a wide-ranging series of illegal transactions in New York City over a nine-year stretch, dating back to 2003.
As Abakporo was away in handcuffs, his wife and two children wept openly in the courtroom.

70 Boko Haram Insurgents Killed By Vigilante Group In Adamawa

A vigilante group in Madagali town in Adamawa State on Friday killed about 70 Boko Haram insurgents in an ambush that underscores the frustration of residents of Northern Nigeria.

Coming two days after a similar counter-offensive by residents of three villages in the KalaBalge district of Borno State, a Sahara Reporters report states that the vigilantes were tipped off by a local food vendor that the militants number more than 100 were on their way to procure food in large numbers.

Meanwhile, gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Thursday morning invaded Gbaukuchi, a community in the Kuje Area of the Federal Capital Territory and attacked residents. While some of the gunmen, who did not cover their faces, spoke Fulani and Hausa among themselves, they also gave orders to their victims in smattering English.

One of the victims, a Pastor The Assemblies of God Church, said the attackers stormed the village between 3am and 4am.  “At least 15 houses were attacked. The gunmen collected mobile phones and money from us.

“They attempted to take my motorcycle away but a disagreement arose among them. Some said it should be taken, but others disagreed. “The attackers, however, took away two motorcycles and valuable items from other residents.”

Bomb Blasts kill 10 in Kenya

Two bombs went off in a crowded market in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, yesterday, killing around 10 people, eyewitnesses have said. The latest attack comes days after Britain, United States, France and Australia issued travel warnings to their nationals on holiday in the country regarded by many as a tourist destination.

Apart from the 10 who lost their lives, about 70 others sustained serious injuries, prompting the Kenya Red Cross to call for blood donations.According to reports by Reuters, one explosion struck a minibus taxi, shattering the windows and flattening its tyres. It was near a market best known for selling second-hand clothes from wooden stalls with corrugated iron roofs. The second blast occurred near the same market.

This is not the first time the country is suffering attacks from terrorist groups – it is in fact among a growing list. Last September, fighters loyal to al Shabaab, killed 67 people in a raid on a Nairobi shopping mall.

The United States embassy was bombed on August 7, 1998, killing about 213 people. The attacks, most master-minded by fighters from al Shabaab, is seen as retaliation for Kenya’s military involvement in Somalia, a stronghold of the terrorist group in the East-African sub-region.

28-Year-Old Medical Student Auctions Her Virginity Online, Highest Bidder At $550,000

A 28-year-old medical school student who is auctioning off her virginity on the internet has already received bids as high as $550,000, as she reveals her face in an effort to attract more hefty offers.

The student, who is using the alias ‘Elizabeth Raine,’ launched her online auction on March 31 and initially hid her face to conceal her identity before later deciding it would help convince skeptical customers.

Just a week before bidding ends on May 7, the current top bid listed on her website is $550,000.

She added that she’s been planning the auction for a year and it’s transformed her, making her more educated about prostitution, virginity and ‘slut-shaming.’

Her mom died when she was 10, which was tragic but the trauma is not the reason she is choosing this path to riches.

She told news website that she’s still a virgin because sex and relationships came
second to school work and other commitments.
‘I have a busy life. I am picky and guys were never a priority,’ she said.

Raine claims to have bachelor’s degrees in both biology and engineering and is currently completing a combined MD/PhD program, but she’s concerned her ‘business venture’ may get her thrown out of college if officials learn she’s the ‘Med School Virgin.’
‘Lawyers have different opinions on whether I’d get kicked out, but one lawyer I trust believes it won’t happen,’ she said.

She believes that she has thought of all the details and is confident she ‘can execute and control’ the unique ‘transaction,’ which will in fact take place in Australia because prostitution is illegal in the U.S.
To be safe, the winner must have no STIs and be willing to wear a condom.

He must also not be drunk or on drugs during the encounter, attempt anal sex or treat her violently.

She, however, told journalists  that she is open to kissing the winning bidder, and believes she could even fall in love with the man who pays the most for her flower.

‘I wouldn’t rule out love, but it’s very unlikely,’ Raine said.

Guru Maharaj Ji Claims He Revealed Boko Haram Sponsors To President – Nigerian Monitor

The leader of the One Love Family, Sat Guru Maharaj Ji has stated that he has revealed the sponsors of Boko Haram to President Goodluck Jonathan on more than one occasion.

Naming some former military rulers, a former Vice President and other Northern leaders, Guru said they would face the wrath of God before the end of October over the Nyanya motor park bombing.

He said, “I had told President Goodluck Jonathan those behind these nest of killers (Boko Haram) through several publications.”

“I have asked the President to arrest them before now because they said after the 2011 general elections that because power did not return to the North, they would make the nation ungovernable.

“The spirit of the creator is against them. They are going to be dealt with. I will call them to order in the interest of innocent Nigerians, enough of the bloodletting. If President Jonathan had listened to the advice I gave him two years ago when I was at Aso Rock, all the killings by Boko Haram would have stopped. After my visit to the villa, the bombings stopped but because those in government did not continue to tap from my spiritual grace, the bombers returned," he said.
