Lower House Unanimously Agree To Re-Open High Profile Political Killings In The Country

The House of Representatives yesterday directed the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mr. Solomon Arase to reopen investigations into unresolved cases of high profile political and extra-judicial killings in the country.

The purpose of the reopening, according to the House, was to bring the culprits of the unresolved killings to justice.

The resolution of the House was sequel to the adoption of the prayers of a motion by a member, Kingsley ChindaIn, entitled: “Need to Undertake Further Investigations into Cases of Extra-Judicial Killings and Other High Profile Murders”.

Gay Pride: Man Obstructs Proceedings By Stabbing Participants

Participants dancing and singing through the streets of Jerusalem during the holy city's annual gay pride parade were left shrieking in pain and panic Thursday night, as an anti-gay extremist lunged into a group leading the march and stabbed six people.

Yishai Schlissel, who was arrested at the scene for Thursday's attack, had been released from prison just three weeks ago, after serving a sentence for stabbing several people at the parade in 2005.

The eight-foot tall bronze statue, which features a goat-headed Satan, was revealed to hundreds of ticket holders at a private event in the city.

Bobbi Kristina, the daughter of singers Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, has died.

She died surrounded by her family in a Georgia Hospice, aged 22.

"Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family," a spokesperson said.

"She is finally at peace in the arms of God.  We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months."

House of Lords Deputy Speaker Resigns Over Video of Drug Taking With Prostitutes

A British parliament  Lord Sewel has resigned as Lords deputy speaker after a newspaper  published video of him allegedly taking drugs with prostitutes.

He is facing a police investigation after quitting as Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords over a video allegedly showing him taking drugs with prostitutes.

Lords speaker Baroness D’Souza branded the peer’s behaviour “shocking and unacceptable” and said she was calling in Scotland Yard.

US rapper Snoop Dogg was briefly arrested by Swedish police on suspicion of using illegal drugs, police have said.

President Buhari Rejects N400m Armourd Cars

President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected an offer by the Federal Government to procure five new armoured Mercedes Benz S-600 (V222) cars for his use.

The cars which total cost is worth about N400m were planned to be purchased by the State House.

A close source with the Presidency told journalists that Buhari got to know of the plan when the Permanent Secretary, State House, Mr. Nebolisa Emodi, was briefing him of his ministry’s activities on Wednesday.

Miffed by the revelation, the President was said to have told Emodi that the purchase was unnecessary.

Describing it as a waste of scarce resources, the source said Buhari told the permanent secretary that the cars he inherited from former President Goodluck Jonathan were good enough for him.

“I don’t need any new cars. The ones I am using now are just fine,” the source quoted the President as saying.
