Senate Committee On Works Commends Gov. Wada

  
 Members of the Senate Adhoc Committee on Works have commended the Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada for his developmental strides in the State.

The Senate committee members who gave the commendation while on a visit to state for an on-the-spot assessment of some on-going projects and erosion sites said Governor Idris Wada is laying a solid foundation for an all-round development of the state despite the challenges of funding in the country.

The leader of the delegation, Senator Tayo Alashoadura said the on-going construction of embankment at the bank of River Niger to forestall flooding at the Kpata-Kabba section of the state capital is a landmark project of the administration and urged the State Governor to ensure the completion of the project.
                                                                                                             
On his part, Senator Lanre Tejuosho, a members of the committee praised Governor Idris Wada for impacting the lives of the citizens.

He enjoined the State Government to seek more support and interventions in the area of funding for most of the projects inspected which he described as capital-intensive.

In his remark, the Secretary to Kogi State Government, Prof. Olugbemiro Jegede, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Special Duties, Mr. Ezekiel Obayomi, said the visit by the Senate Committee on Works underscores the need for government at all levels to close ranks in the interest of the people.

He commended the committee members for the assessment visit and assured that the state government will consider their observations with all the seriousness it deserve, adding that Governor Idris Wada is determine to avoid past mistakes in project implementation in his determination to fast-track the development of the State.

Some of the projects and erosion sites visited by members of Senate Committee on Works include, the embankment of the River Niger at Kabawa, gully erosion site at Felele and channelization site at Ganaja junction in Lokoja
