A
rape suspect known as Okpara Miracle, in Awka, Anambra has reportedly escaped
through a window while he was being prepared for an arraignment in court.
According
to the reporters, the suspect managed to escape after his handcuffs were
removed, offering him an opportunity to break the louvres of the room where he
was being held.
Miracle
was apprehended by the police on the suspicion of kidnapping, rape and cultism.
Speaking
in relation to the matter, a source said, “The accused was brought to the court
in handcuff, but the handcuff was later unlocked with the hope that he will be
of good behaviour before the unexpected happened.”
Meanwhile,
the Magistrate of the court has urged the police not to relent on its efforts
to recapture the suspect who is expected to pay for his crimes
