Bianca Andreescu Signs Sponsorship Deal With Rolex

Canadian tennis player of Romanian origin Bianca Andreescu has signed a contract wit the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer, Rolex, according to Forbes magazine.

“Excited to announce that I’m officially a part of the Rolex family,” Andreescu tweeted out. “Can’t wait to get to work with the Rolex team,” Bianca announced on social media.

Andreescu has other big sponsors like Nike, BMW and Head, but also deals with various local businesses. For instance, soon after she won her first title at Indian Wells in March, a Canadian vegan restaurant chain signed an endorsement deal with Andreescu for a year at a reported USD 50,000.
Rolex is well represented in sports, luring big athlete names such as Tiger Woods (golf), Phil Mickelson (golf), Roger Federer (tennis) and Lindsey Vonn (ski).

Andreescu’s agent, Jonathan Dasnières de Veigy told the Globe and Mail in September that Andreescu’s success came faster than expected, and he is turning down offers because they want to be selective and form the right partnerships.

“Honestly, we didn’t think that day would come so soon, but now she’s arrived, we’re in a position where we don’t need to rush,” Dasnières de Veigy said. “First and foremost, we want to ensure that Bianca is at the peak of her game as a professional athlete. Our job is to keep her life as simple as possible, so she can focus on tennis.”

No. 5 in the WTA world rankings, Bianca’s earnings now amount to over USD 6 million.
