Three persons died yesterday while about 30 sustained
various degrees of injuries when a 40-feet
tanker loaded with automotive gas oil
skidded off its track and hit the
protector pillars and immediately burst into flames.
It was gathered that the Tanker experienced brake failure
while on top of the flyover near Nkpor
market in Idemili North Local Government Area.
Witnesses told journalist that when the Tanker hit the
iron railing of the bridge its tank immediately burst open with fuel gushing
inflame fire.
While these were happening, traders and buyers in the
market scampered to safety and in the process no fewer than 30 persons, mostly
market women, sustained various degrees of injuries.
