Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to meet
today with all the Service Chiefs to discuss the battle against terrorism and
relocation of Command and Control Centre of the military to Maiduguri, Borno
State.
Other agendas to be discussed include voluntary
retirement of Service Chiefs from office, to give way for new appointees.
Reports say that the directive of President Buhari to
relocate the Command and Control Centre of the Nigerian Army to Maiduguri was
not well received by factions of the military high command. The Service Chiefs
had earlier seen the directive as an attempt to frustrate them out of office,
hence the meeting for today.
