Breaking News: Ebola Survivor, Doctor Ada Igonoh Gives Birth To Baby Girl


First Consultant Medical Centre officially announces that resident staff and Ebola Survivor, Dr. Ada Igonoh gave birth to a baby girl a few hours ago.The baby girl weighing 9 pounds 1 ounce was born at the Greater El-Monte Community Hospital, California.

Dr. Igonoh is the only female medical doctor to have survived the deadly disease. Since her conception, Dr. Ada has been placed under medical surveillance to ensure that her child is Ebola-Free. The baby, upon birth, has been certified Ebola-free.

To mark this wonderful news, the staff and friends of First Consultants Medical Centre are jubilant in celebration as they welcome a new lease of life to the institution and in memory of fallen colleagues and Survivors of Ebola.


The World Health Organization, in concert with the Centre for Disease Control, formally declared Nigeria Ebola-Free on October 20, 2014.

Senate Committee On Works Commends Gov. Wada

  
 Members of the Senate Adhoc Committee on Works have commended the Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada for his developmental strides in the State.

The Senate committee members who gave the commendation while on a visit to state for an on-the-spot assessment of some on-going projects and erosion sites said Governor Idris Wada is laying a solid foundation for an all-round development of the state despite the challenges of funding in the country.

The leader of the delegation, Senator Tayo Alashoadura said the on-going construction of embankment at the bank of River Niger to forestall flooding at the Kpata-Kabba section of the state capital is a landmark project of the administration and urged the State Governor to ensure the completion of the project.

Kogi Hails Appeal Court Judgement On LG Councils


Kogi State Government has applauded the judgement of the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja which reinstated the chairmen and councillors of the 21 Local Government Areas in the state.

In a statement issued in Lokoja, Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, described the judgement as an affirmation that the judiciary is truly the last hope of the common man and commended the reinstated chairmen and councillors for remaining law abiding while the court case lasted.

"FIFTY" BFI London Premiere – Official Release Date 18.12.15


London was brought to a standstill last night, Saturday October 17, 2015, as the festival premiere of the enthralling motion picture, Fifty, and the cast of A-list Nollywood stars quietened the usually raucous streets of London’s Leicester Square. 

This event marked the first African-style film premiere in London and witnessed the largest ever assembly of spectators during its screening at the London Film Festival.

 The stars of the night were Omoni Oboli, Ireti Doyle, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Nse Ikpe-Etim and Wale Ojo. The celebrities were joined by the acclaimed creative director, Biyi Bandele and the award winning executive producer Mo Abudu.

Chivas Regal recently announced The Venture will be launching in Nigeria for the first time. This follows the global success of the first year of the competition, which saw over 1000 start-ups compete for a share of a $1 million fund.

The Venture is part of the luxury Whisky new campaign tagged ‘Win The Right Way’ a global initiative celebrating those social entrepreneurs who run their businesses in a way that benefits society, not just shareholders, and is the latest in the brand’s campaign which will be launching in Nigeria.
