Equatorial
Guinea has been announced as host of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations to replace
Morocco.
Morocco
pulled out from staging the tournament for fears of the spread of the deadly
Ebola epidemic.
The
Confederation of African Football (CAF) insisted that the January 17 to
February 8 date will not change and disqualified Morocco from participating at
the 2015 competition.
There
were reports CAF was considering giving the hosting right to either Angola,
Egypt, Gabon or Nigeria.
But
the body on Friday announced Equatorial Guinea, who were joint hosts of the
2012 edition, as the new country to stage the championship.
The
four cities selected for the finals are Malabo, Bata, Mongomo and Ebebiyin.
